We stepped off the boat and onto a train to visit the capital of Sicily – Palermo. What a city! It’s grand, gritty, and absolutely full of life. From its historic palaces and crumbling facades to the vibrant markets and tucked-away piazzas, Palermo is a place that feels both ancient and alive.
Yes, it’s busy with tourists — but with good reason. Around every corner we found something unexpected: a hidden chapel, a quiet courtyard, or a bakery scent that pulled us off course.
It’s a city of contrasts, and one we’re so glad we took the time to explore.
Back to the boat now — with tired feet and full hearts.
More soon,
— Jude & Richard
